Water in my tubing or mask

Understand condensation, often called rainout, and the comfort options that can help.

Sources checked October 18, 2026

Why water collects

Warm, humidified air can cool as it travels through the tube. Moisture then collects as droplets. This is often called rainout.

Review your climate settings

  • Check your device guide for humidity and tube-temperature controls.
  • If you use compatible heated tubing, review the automatic climate option where available.
  • Check whether a cool room is contributing to condensation.
  • Ask for help if water continues to collect or you are unsure which tubing is compatible.

Balance moisture and comfort

Increasing humidity is not always the answer to a wet mask. Your care team can help balance dryness and condensation using the options available on your device.
